Food for Rescues

I am recommending here that you support my friends at Rescue Bank.

During Hurricane Katrina Elizabeth Asher and John Kane provided logistical support for pet rescues. In 2006 they created Rescue Bank. Rescue Bank receives pet food donated from major brand name manufacturers. Then they distribute thousands of pounds of this food to 501(c)3 pet rescues through a network of distribution points across America. They are looking for donations to support this effort and affiliates to help create more distribution points.

By helping to provide pet food to valid rescues (large and smaller lesser-known ones) they are enabling rescues to focus more of their limited resources on the more challenging medical and daily care issues.

The Rescue Bank website contains information about their effort, procedures, operation, a map of their current distribution points and application forms for rescues in need.
