Animal Rescue Emergency Disaster Relief Websites

Below is a list (with links) of established organizations that have disaster relief teams equipped to handle large-scale disasters. Many of these also assist organizations and communities with disaster preparedness plans.

I think it’s important to remember that in 2015 there were forest fires raging across the coast and Midwest all at the same time. There were 5 in California, 1 in Idaho, 1 in Nevada, 1 in Oklahoma, 3 in Oregon and 8 in Washington. In 2018 the Carolinas were devastated by a major hurricane and then another hurricane ripped through the Florida Pan Handle, Georgia and again on its way to the Carolinas. Not to forget the hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Texas we were then horrified to witness the 2018 California Fires spurred on by 7 years of drought in that State.

As we witness scenes of local people struggling to pull, locate and herd animals away from these disasters I think we should also notice the national, state and international response teams that are there organizing assistance, food, shelter and veterinary care for these traumatized animals and their owners. A donation to these organizations then would be in order.
